Monsieur Twinkletoes Beaubier! Apparently the internets are all a-twitter about you this week. What should I tell my students when they inquire whether it's true that you're going to go on that dancing show with all the washed-up rappers, C-list actors, and other sundry has-beens?
Speaking of things that are sad: ladies, gentlemen, this is my official notice of a short leave of absence. I'll be in New York this weekend, speaking at a conference and taking care of some business. Some of us do have real careers, despite all appearances. I'm taking the next week as some personal time to spend Passover with my folks in BC. That is, vacation, no matter how many emergencies crop up. So, respected colleagues of mine, though you'll find that you are lacking a certain je ne sais quoi as you go about your business next week, try to bear my absence bravely. I'll be back with you all by the 25th.
